Teacher Education Program Transfer Information for SUNY-Geneseo
Overall GPA Entrance Requirement
Cumulative GPA minimum of 3.0 for AA/AS degree
Requirements for Major/Concentration
Majors/Concentrations for Students in Teacher Preparation Programs
Childhood, Early Childhood, Childhood with Special Education
Complete a minimum of 30 credits, Complete application form and essay, Satisfy English writing requirement, Complete required service learning in schools (25 hours for elementary-level programs and 15 hours for adolescence programs)
Students should select a liberal arts concentration (see bulletin.geneseo.edu under School of Education for list of concentrations); we recommend completion of at least 9 hours in the concentration at your 2-year college.


Adolescence Education
Students who seek this certification should complete Adolescent Psychology at your 2-year college
Students will major in one of the following areas: Mathematics, Foreign Language (French or Spanish), English, Social Studies (History, Geography, Anthropology, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology), Science (Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics) and should complete at least 15 semester hours in the major at your 2-year college.
