Dr. Bringsjord is Vice Chancellor for Academic Programs and Assessment and Vice Provost. In that capacity, she oversees the review of SUNY’s academic developments, spanning more than 6,500 credit-bearing programs across the 64-plus campus system. Noteworthy among her accomplishments is her leadership in working with the State Education Department to streamline and coordinate program review and registration, enabling campuses to more quickly adapt to change in support of regional and statewide economic development. A strong proponent of shared governance, Dr. Bringsjord also serves on the Executive Committee of the University Faculty Senate.
With more than 20 years of experience in higher education, as a faculty member and administrator at both public and private institutions, including twelve years at SUNY System Administration, Dr. Bringsjord has led many efforts to enhance academic quality and ensure accountability while promoting access and success. In 1999, she was recruited to the State University to serve as project manager for Mission Review—a system-wide academic strategic planning effort, nationally recognized in the area of quality assurance. Since then, she has also managed University-wide enrollment planning, spearheaded SUNY’s peer analytic efforts, and prepared two SUNY Master Plans (2000–2004 and 2004–2008). In 2007-08, Dr. Bringsjord served as staff to the Governor’s Commission on Higher Education. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the State University of New York, Dr. Bringsjord received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Service in June 2008.
Elizabeth Bringsjord holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Educational Psychology and Statistics from the University at Albany, a Master’s in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.S. in Nursing from Boston University.
