Director of Communications

David Doyle was named Director of Communications in May 2012. Prior to that, David was a communications staffer in the Executive Chamber and the Department of Law.

David is the primary spokesperson for the University and is responsible for SUNY’s press inquiries, press releases, public statements, strategic communications planning, and coordination of communications efforts with SUNY’s 64 campuses. David is based in SUNY’s Albany offices.

Before coming to state government and SUNY administration, David spent eight years in television news in New York City and Albany. He assisted with the coverage of major world events including the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections, the September 11th attacks, the Shuttle Discovery disaster, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.               
                                                                     
David is a graduate of SUNY Oswego and lives in Saratoga Springs with his wife and son.
