Albany – State University of New York Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher today announced the winners of the 2010-11 Chancellor’s Scholar-Athlete Award, which recognizes a combination of academic excellence and outstanding athletic achievement at the Division I, Division III, and NJCAA levels.

“This year’s 74 SUNY scholar-athletes have accomplished a great feat, excelling in our classrooms as well as our athletic programs,” said Chancellor Zimpher. “With an average GPA of 3.64 and a number of championship competitions among them, the achievements of our scholar-athletes are cause for cheer. Congratulations to all of this year’s winners.”

Scholar athletes are selected by System Administration in consultation with the campus Athletic Directors at each level of play. In honor of the accomplishment, each award recipient will receive a congratulatory letter and a plaque from Chancellor Zimpher.

A complete listing of the 2010-11 recipients of the award is available online.
