Statement of SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher on the Retirement of Stu Steiner

“President Steiner’s exemplary leadership of Genesee Community College is both praiseworthy and historic, as he departs from GCC after serving as president for a remarkable 37 years – truly the end of an era.

“The duration of his tenure, and his boundless enthusiasm for GCC and SUNY as whole, demonstrates an inspiring dedication to public education.

“We are most grateful for Stu’s enduring contributions to SUNY, and I wish him the best of luck in the future as he prepares for a very well-deserved retirement.”
