New SUNY Alumni Website
Allows Graduates to Reconnect, Discover Benefits
Queens – Graduates of the State
University of New York’s 64 campuses will join together tonight at Citi Field
for the first SUNY-wide alumni event in recent history. For $20, attendees will
get an opportunity to network at a pre-game gathering at McFadden’s restaurant
before hitting the stands to root for the NY Mets as they take on the
Pittsburgh Pirates.
The event, which sold out in just
over a week, marks the beginning of a series of events being planned to
reconnect friends and classmates and make new connections for graduates of
different SUNY institutions.
“As I travel the state, I am
constantly reminded of the strength of the SUNY family,” said Chancellor Nancy
L. Zimpher. “In every corner of the state, one is hard pressed to find someone
who didn’t go to SUNY or doesn’t have a relative or close friend who attended a
SUNY campus. Tonight we will connect graduates from Buffalo to Stony Brook,
Cornell to the Fashion Institute of Technology. Our alumni are one of New
York’s most valuable untapped resources and we know bringing them together will
benefit not only their individual success but the future of SUNY and our
state.”
Graduates who are not able to attend the
event can join the movement at the recently launched SUNY Alumni website. Visitors will find
information about other upcoming events, how to reconnect with the
SUNY system, and ways to take advantage of unique deals and discounts available
to alumni and staff through the SUNY Perks program.
