Buffalo State College Symphonic Choir Among Event Performers
Albany – The State University of New York will again co-sponsor the Annual New York State Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Observance on Monday, Jan. 21, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany, N.Y.
“SUNY is proud to sponsor and participate in New York’s annual observance of Martin Luther King Jr. – an insightful leader who has inspired generations to reach their potential,” said SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher.
As a co-sponsor of the event, SUNY will help provide technical support for the live satellite broadcast that allows millions of citizens throughout New York and neighboring states to view the observance. SUNY will have a recruitment booth at the event, and the Buffalo State College Symphonic Choir, under the direction of Dr. Victoria Furby, will perform.
“We’re grateful to have this wonderful opportunity for Buffalo State’s talented choir to perform at such an important event that will honor and celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, a leader who has served as a beacon of hope and inspiration and a model of courage throughout our nation,” said Buffalo State President Aaron Podolefsky.
Satellite information for Monday’s broadcast is available online.
