New York City – The SUNY Board of Trustees today approved the appointment of John E. Jablonski as President of Clinton Community College, effective June 1, 2009, at a salary of $135,000, as approved by the Board of Trustees at Clinton Community College.

The Clinton Community College Board of Trustees conducted two national searches to identify an individual highly qualified to serve as President of Clinton Community College.  After considering 50 applicants, the Board concluded that Mr. Jablonski was the best choice for the position. Subsequently, on December 16, 2008, the Clinton Community College Board unanimously adopted a resolution appointing him.

Board Chairman Carl T. Hayden said, “It is my pleasure to support Mr. Jablonski’s appointment as the next president of Clinton Community College. Mr. Jablonski has been a member of the SUNY family for many, many years and it is clear that he will provide the College with great leadership and vision.”

SUNY Vice Chancellor and Officer-In-Charge John J. O’Connor said, “I am confident that John Jablonski will be an excellent President at Clinton Community College.  He possesses the experience, skills and personality that will enable him to lead the College for many years to come.  I would also like to thank Dr. Frederick Woodward for the admirable leadership he provided the campus in the interim.”

“When I applied for the position at Clinton Community College, I thought that it would be an excellent fit for the college and for me and my family,” said Jablonski.  “Everything that I’ve seen and heard during the selection process has made me even more sure that this is the place for me.” He explained, “The students, faculty and staff have impressed me with their dedication, their enthusiasm and their kindness. The community leaders that I’ve met are very supportive of the college. They recognize what an asset it is. The trustees, the administration, Interim President Woodward and his wife Carol have made Kelly and me feel like we belong here.”
