What is Pacific Crest?Pacific Crest provides faculty development in the areas of learning, teaching, mentoring, instructional design and assessment. Their work in these areas has resulted in the development and articulation of an educational philosophy called Process EducationTM. Process EducationTM is a performance-based philosophy of education which integrates many different educational theories, processes, and tools in emphasizing the continuous development of learning skills through the use of assessment principles in order to produce learner self-development. What Programs are available?Pacific Crest offers innovative workshops and institutes to improve educational outcomes. The workshops and institutes focus on key educational processes such as teaching, instructional design, student success, technology, assessment, and institutional effectiveness. How can I attend an event?The SUNY CPD, a Pacific Crest Regional Professional Development Center (RPDC), in support of the Process EducationTM philosophy, will be offering a number of faculty development events in various areas of the State in the coming months. These faculty development events will be unique to the needs, culture and individual goals of SUNY. Everyone is invited to attend and bolster collaborative relationships. We will work closely with you and Pacific Crest in coordinating an event - from developing content, finalizing the schedule, marketing, registration and logistics. What is the cost?As a Pacific Crest Regional Professional Development Center, the CPD is able to provide events at a significantly reduced rate. These events vary in length, lasting one, two, three or four days. Since they are unique to your campus' needs, you determine the content and length of the workshop. The cost varies based on the length of the workshop. Is your campus a CPD Member? If so, you pay a discounted rate and can use your CPD Training Points as payment.
