Albany – SUNY Board Chairman
H. Carl McCall today announced that Trustee Pedro Noguera has informed him that he is resigning from the
SUNY Board of Trustees.
“As chair of the Board’s
Education, College Readiness and Success Committee and a member of the Board
since 2008, Pedro Noguera has provided diligent
counsel and exemplary service to the State University of New York, the Charter
Schools Institute, and New York State,” said Chairman McCall. “I thank him for
this service and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”
The Charter Schools Act of
1998 grants the SUNY Board authorizing power to grant 230 charters for the
purpose of organizing and operating independent and autonomous public charter

assist them in carrying out their responsibilities under the Act.
