Dr. James Weyhenmeyer, Research Foundation of SUNY
| Dr. Weyhenmeyer is an experienced senior administrator having held several executive administrative appointments, including Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Associate Vice President for Economic Development and Corporate Relations. He was the founding CEO/Managing Director of Illinois VENTURES, LLC, an early-stage venture capital firm focused on the development of technology-based companies. He is also a serial entrepreneur, having served in management positions for companies in the medical device, drug delivery and drug development sectors. Dr. Weyhenmeyer is an accomplished scientist having published widely in the areas of cardiovascular and stroke research.
He currently holds appointments as Professor of Biological Sciences at the University at Albany and Adjunct Professor of Cell Biology, Neuroscience and Pathology and Affiliate Faculty in the Institute for Genomic Biology at the University of Illinois. He is a member of several honorary societies, including the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences. Dr. Weyhenmeyer received his Ph.D. from Indiana University.
