By Train 
Take the Long Island Railroad's Port Jefferson line from Penn Station in Manhattan to Stony Brook. The 
LIRR station is at the north end of the campus; bus service to the central campus is provided. Trains to 
and from Penn generally require transfers at Jamaica or Huntington. Hicksville is also a transfer point 
on some lines. Here is the schedule for Stony Brook.

From Long Island Expressway
Take LIE (495) to Exit 62 Nicolls Road (97) North. Drive approximately 8.5 miles to the South entrance of 
Stony Brook University. This entrance will be on your left. Turn onto South Drive and follow South 
Drive, through two traffic lights to the end which will be Stony Brook Road. At the end, make a right 
and the building site will be on your left hand side exactly .3 miles. 
From Nesconset Highway (347)
Take Stony Brook Road (1/4 mile west of Nicolls Road - Hess gas station and Duane Reade Drug on 
corner) North exactly 1.9 miles to CEWIT building entrance on west (left) side of road
