Slide 4 SUNY Office of Global Affairs Agency-based International Student Recruitment: The Unfolding Plan - A Discussion Slide 5 SUNY Office of Global Affairs System-wide Agency-based Recruitment Initiative A coordinated effort to utilize commission-based international recruitment agencies, in order to substantially grow international student numbers, enhance global perspectives for domestic students, strengthen our financial position, and stimulate the economy, through the enrollment of qualified, fee-paying students from around the world, into programs where SUNY has existing capacity.* * And where American students will not be displaced. Slide 6 SUNY Office of Global Affairs System-wide International Recruitment Initiative Core Principle: Campus Autonomy in Recruitment Decisions Campus participation is voluntary Campuses will establish their own recruiting targets Campuses will establish admissions criteria and make admissions decisions Campuses agree to not negotiate agency contracts independent of the System Campuses may utilize other non-agency recruiting modalities independent of System involvement. Slide 7 SUNY Office of Global Affairs System-wide International Recruitment Initiative Operationalization The Office of Global Affairs (OGA) will qualify agents and contract directly on behalf of the system OGA will act as paymaster for commissions to agents OGA will have specialist personnel to assist campuses in maximizing the productivity of agency relationships OGA will train and coordinate the global agency network OGA will coordinate bi-direction familiarization tours and marketing initiatives, leveraging system resources OGA will work with campuses to develop a "cascading" application process whereby all applicants will find a place at some SUNY campus Slide 8 American International Recruitment Council (AIRC) AIRC Certification as a Prime Criterion for Vendor Selection American International Recruitment Council (AIRC) c/o State University of New York - 116 East 55th Street - New York, NY 10022 - Tel. +1 240 516 8470 - info@airc-education.org Slide 9 AIRC Organization Incorporated as a not-for-profit 501c3 corporation Registered as an official Standards Development Organization (SDO) with the US Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission Strict separation between governing board (Board of Directors) and Certification Board.
