Past Conferences:

On October 21st, 2015, the SUNY Retirees Service Corps, Schenectady County Community College, and the Retirees Association of Schenectady County Community College co-sponsored the fourth biennial SUNY Retirees Conference, "Creating New Connections," at Schenectady County Community College (SCCC) in Schenectady, NY. The event drew nearly 70 attendees from 24 SUNY campuses. The participants included SUNY retirees, campus HR and benefits administrators, individuals overseeing the existing SUNY campus retiree programs and organizations, and staff interested in starting a retiree organization at their campus.

A panel discussion examined the challenges faced and the best practices utilized by SUNY campuses retiree programs and organizations regarding maintaining and furthering connections between retirees, their former colleagues and campuses. Go to the 2015 SUNY Retirees Conf. In addition to the various presentations and forums, the conference included a luncheon banquet prepared and served by students of SCCC’s prestigious School of Hotel, Culinary Arts & Tourism; and a tour of SCCC’s acclaimed School of Music as well as a performance by the SCCC Jazz Combo.


On November 20, 2013, The SUNY Retirees Service Corp, the SUNY College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE), and the University at Albany Emeritus Center co-sponsored the third biennial SUNY Retirees Conference, "Connecting SUNY Retirees in the Digital Age," at SUNY CNSE's Albany NanoFab South Rotunda and Auditorium. On November 3, 2011, the SUNY Retirees Service Corps held its second biennial conference, "The Power of SUNY Retirees." The event brought together retirees and campus administrators from throughout the SUNY system. The focus of the conference was to focus on how state-operated and community college campuses can tap into the power of SUNY retirees by building relationships with them and providing opportunities that would benefit the campus, the community, and the retirees themselves. On November 12, 2009, the SUNY Retirees Service Corps held its inaugural conference, "Re-Imagining SUNY Retirement." View the proceedings of this conference.
