New Distance Learning Option for SBU Physician Assistants Masters Program Offered Worldwide

Physician Assistants around the globe can now obtain an advanced degree and further their careers with a new distance learning option at Stony Brook University Medical Center. The option is being offered through the Post-Professional Masters Program for Physician Assistants (PPMP).

Designed especially for working professionals, this highly affordable 30-credit program provides a unique focus on administration, management, teaching and research skills. The program helps prepare graduates for career advancement opportunities in all areas of healthcare reform.

Core curriculum courses include: Ethics and Healthcare, Contemporary Issues in Healthcare Delivery, Clinical Prevention and Population Health, Evidence-Based Medicine: Evaluating and Applying Clinical Research, and Research Writing.

The program also provides personalized elective coursework in areas such as Healthcare Finance, Health Law, Health Policy, Principles of Managed Care, Group Practice Management, and Leadership in Healthcare.
