Herkimer County Community College Open Center for Global Learning
In Nov. 2010, the ribbon was cut on Herkimer County Community College’s new Center for Global Learning, which will be a resource for international students and others interested in learning more about international studies.
Study Abroad information will be made available and English as Second Language courses will be offered at the center. The college also hopes to host community events for students, faculty and community members alike.
Student services will include helping new foreign students find places to buy amenities like food and bedding, and showing them around town so they can become better acquainted with the region.
HCCC’s Office of International Programs started off with 12 international students in 1996. Today, the school enrolls more than 90 students from more than 20 different countries.
