SUNY Canton is Northern New York's two- and four-year college for technology, health, management and public service. The College provides a progression of accessible, affordable, career-driven programs and also features a large selection of online courses. The College recently opened a brand new athletic center and an apartment-style residence hall.

North Country Community College Ranked in 2010 as #1 Best Community College in New York and 22nd Best Community College in the United States, by Washington Monthly magazine, North Country Community College operates campuses in Saranac Lake, Malone and Ticonderoga and Hybrid Online classes. The College also offers Guaranteed Joint Admission with either SUNY Plattsburgh or SUNY Potsdam.

Clinton Community College The mission of Clinton Community College is "to provide educational programs that enrich minds, strengthen the economy and improve the quality of life in our region." The college offers a wide range of associate degree and certificate programs that support workforce development. Clinton is particularly recognized for its outstanding Nursing program and the Northeast's first and only associate's degree program in Wind Energy and Turbine Technology.

SUNY Plattsburgh Named one of the Top 100 Values in Public Colleges by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance and one of America’s Best Colleges by U.S. News & World Report, SUNY Plattsburgh offers more than 60 majors and a wide range of programs that prepare graduates for professional life and advanced studies through a solid foundation in the liberal arts.

Empire State College is a leader in providing alternative higher educational experiences for adult learners. Students work one-to-one with mentors, study online, engage in residencies and study groups, or blend these ways of learning. With 36 locations across the state of New York, the college offers a flexible, affordable opportunity to earn a highly respected degree from the State University of New York.

SUNY Potsdam Founded in 1816, The State University of New York at Potsdam is one of America’s first 50 colleges. SUNY Potsdam is home to the worldrenowned Crane School of Music, and is known for its handcrafted education, liberal arts and sciences core, excellence in teacher training, and leadership in the performing and visual arts. Enrolling 4,400 undergraduate and graduate students, the College has a $403 million annual impact.

Jefferson Community College, located in Watertown, offers associate degree and certificate programs in both classroom-based and on-line formats. In addition to articulation agreements to ease transfer, the College partners with four-year institutions to provide opportunities for community members to earn bachelor’s and master’s degrees locally. Nearly one-third of the College’s enrollment comes from active duty soldiers stationed at nearby Fort Drum and their family members.
