The previous Leadership Development Transformation Team was chaired by Chancellor Nancy Zimpher and then Chairman, Carl Hayden. The team examined existing professional development initiatives and explored how best to expand them in multiple directions. The work of the Leadership Development Transformation Team culminated in April, 2011 and is outlined in their Recommended Action Plan. This document describes the adoption of three major goal areas and the plans to examine and develop avenues for professional development of department chairs, opportunities for career growth within and outside SUNY, participation of SUNY colleagues in internal and external leadership institutes, and succession planning for the system. This team completed its charge in April 2011 and the implementation work then began in earnest, and is actively underway.
