2010 Nominations

Criteria and Guidelines:

It is time, once again, for NYCCT to prepare to honor outstanding Trustees serving New York's Community Colleges by requesting nominations for the Annual Awards Presentation that will be held at the Gideon Putnam Hotel in Saratoga Springs, New York on Friday, March 12, 2010.

Enclosed, please find the 2010 NYCCT Awards Criteria Packet.  In the packet you will find a full description of the eight award categories, along with the eligibility criteria and nominations procedure.  Award categories are as follows:

  • Anne M. Bushnell Memorial Award for Special Achievement
  • Marvin A. Rapp Award for Distinguished Trustee Service
  • Benefactor Vision for Tomorrow Award
  • Business/Industry Partnership Award
  • Distinguished Alumnus/ae Award
  • Friend of Community Colleges Award
  • The Alice Holloway Young Award for Distinguished Service by a Retired Trustee
  • The Trustee Leadership Award

Last year, we added a category, “The Alice Holloway Young Award for Distinguished Service by a Retired Trustee.”  As many as three winners will be accepted for this category.

Please note, you may re-nominate candidates who were considered last year but who may not have won.

The new deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, February 5, 2010.  All nominations must be faxed or postmarked by this date in order to be considered by the Awards Committee.  Nominees can be entered via board resolution, or, in some cases, nominations you make.  Please schedule a discussion and nomination of award recipients for your next board meeting.

All awards will be presented at the Friday evening March 12, 2010, NYCCT Awards Banquet held during our 56th Annual Spring Conference at the Gideon Putnam Hotel in Saratoga Springs, New York.  The conference will be hosted by Adirondack Community College and Hudson Valley Community College on March 11, 12, 13, 2010.

NYCCT is pleased to present this opportunity to honor those trustees, alumni, benefactors, businesses and others in the community college arena that have made a significant contribution to the development and success of our colleges.  Please join us in this endeavor to create a memorable celebration of the accomplishments of our dedicated colleagues.
