2015 Program Review

Networks of Excellence Program Review

The Networks of Excellence program review was undertaken by a team of SUNY faculty, administrators, and students to ensure the program is on the path to meeting its objectives and providing an appropriate return on the investment for SUNY and the RF. The review took place in April and May of 2015 and consisted of a comprehensive review of NoE data and three team meetings to discuss the data and come to consensus on recommendations. A final report was delivered to SUNY Provost and RF Interim President Alexander Cartwright in June 2015.

Summary Recommendations

  1. Clarify the objective of the Networks of Excellence to be more explicit that it is primarily a vehicle for bringing more external research dollars to SUNY.
  2. Focus on strategies that will most effectively achieve the stated objective.
  3. Focus on solving New York State problems, which are also problems facing the nation and the world.
  4. Continue to place workshops and faculty collaboration at the core of the Networks.
