Welcome to the International Programs Web site for the State University of New York, where you can find hundreds of international programs and activities taking place every day throughout the SUNY system. Please take advantage of this site to navigate your way around the globe by way of the Office of International Programs, where dual and joint degree programs, faculty and scholar exchanges, international curricula development and other academic collaborations are developing with Turkey, Russia, Mexico, Quebec, France and beyond. 	SANTANDER-SOVEREIGN BANK offers SUNY SCHOLARSHIP for STUDY ABROAD IN SPAIN. The SUNY-CRUE Language Teacher Training Partnership scholarship program offered by SANTANDER-SOVEREIGN BANK, through its Santander Universities Global Division, will provide up to 10 scholarships for one academic year of study in Spain beginning in Fall 2012. 	The US-Brazil Higher Education Consortia Program is jointly administered by the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE) and the Brazilian Ministry of Education. The program provides grants for up to four years to consortia of at least two academic institutions each from Brazil and the United States. The program fosters the exchange of students and faculty within the context of bilateral curricular development. More Information

	The North American Mobility Program promotes a student-centered, North American dimension to education and training in a wide range of academic and professional disciplines that complement existing forms of bilateral and trilateral exchange programs between Mexico, Canada, and the United States. Consortia are funded for four years with the first year of funding dedicated to establishing consortium agreements or memoranda of understanding among institutions in the participating countries. The North American Mobility Program is a grant competition run cooperatively by the governments of the United States (FIPSE), Canada, and Mexico. More Information

	The European Union-United States Atlantis Program is jointly administered and funded by the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE) and the European Commission's Directorate General for Education and Culture. The program provides grants for up to five years to add a European Community-United States dimension to international curriculum development and related student exchange. More information

	The U.S.-Russia Program is administered cooperatively by the U.S. Department of Education's Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE) and the Russian Ministry of Education and Science. This program is designed to support the formation of educational consortia of American and Russian institutions of higher education (IHEs) to encourage mutual socio-cultural-linguistic cooperation; the joint development of curricula, educational materials, and other types of educational and methodological activities; and related educational student and staff mobility (exchanges). For this year round, there will be six awards in the following three subject areas: Science and Technology; Environmental Science; Education, Culture, and Society. Program description also states that a consortium must be formed between one interested American IHE with one or more of the 13 Russian IHEs listed in the announcement. More Information

	IIE/Latin America Internship Program in Mexico City and Brazil - The Institute of International Education, Office for Latin America, based in Mexico City, offers an internship program which provides students and recent graduates the opportunity to develop professional skills in a formal bilingual setting and gain practical experience within the field of international education, working for an international non-profit organization and an affiliate of the Educational Information and Resources Branch of the U.S. Department of State. The office seeks candidates for the internship program in two separate administrative offices within IIE/Latin America: the Scholarship Division and the Educational Advising Division. 	PIMSA - CALL FOR PROPOSALS: Fourth Annual SUNY Call for Proposals on Research into US-Mexico Migration and Health. CONACyT and the University of California have invited SUNY to participate in a consortium of US universities in Mexican "border states" which studies issues of migration and health. This program funds projects from teams of United States and Mexican researchers from select universities for basic and applied collaborative research, public policy, public service, and education projects that apply research to issues of health and migration in the United States and Mexico. 	TIES U.S. - Mexico University Partnerships - The Training, Internships, Exchanges and Scholarships (TIES) initiative is an important component of the Partnership for Prosperity, which is a public-private alliance that focuses on promoting economic growth and higher living standards. TIES higher education partnerships consist of fully collaborative relationships between Mexican and U.S. higher education institutions and their public and private sector partners on both sides of the border. TIES enhances the capacity of higher education institutions of both nations to examine mutual development opportunities and challenges, work in strategic alliances to develop appropriate plans and solutions, and assist Mexico in benefiting more broadly from the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). USAID anticipates funding up to seven (7) University Partnership projects in the following areas: Strengthening Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Higher Education for Rural Development Rule of Law Conservation of Biodiversity and Economic Growth English Language Education More Information

	Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program - The Gilman International Scholarship Program provides awards of up to $5,000 for U.S. undergraduate students to study abroad for up to one academic year. The program aims to diversify the kinds of students who study abroad and the countries and regions where they go. The program serves students who have been under-represented in study abroad which includes but is not limited to: students with high financial need, community college students, students in under-represented fields such as the sciences and engineering, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds, students attending minority-serving institutions, and students with disabilities. The Gilman Program seeks to assist students from a diverse range and type of two-year and four-year public and private institutions from all 50 states.
