Standing Committees:

The SUNY Benefits Advisory Committee (BAC) is a subdivision of the SUNY Human Resources Association (SHRA) comprised of members of the SUNY campus HR and Benefits community who are willing to share their knowledge and expertise for the greater good.

The group’s activities include advising and assisting SUNY System Administration in the design and delivery of its employee benefit programs, assisting and mentoring new Benefits Administrators at other SUNY campuses, sharing information, and working on benefits related projects of benefit to all.

SUNY Human Resources Association Recognition and Awards Committee

Mission: Promote HR professional and service excellence through peer recognition of members of the SUNY Human Resources profession whose professional contributions optimizes such excellence.   Recognize retiring SUHRA members who have demonstrated a commitment to the mission, vision and values of SUHRA and those they have served.

 Membership Criteria:

  • To value the importance of recognition of the professional contributions of peers.
  • To actively participate in committee responsibilities.
  • To promote SUHRA awards and encourage nominations.
  • To confidentially review nominations and provide objective and constructive input in the selection of award recipients for nomination to the SUHRA President.
  • To recommend and/or contribute to the development of new awards or initiatives that recognize individual and/or group accomplishments.

Award/Recognition

 

SUNY Human Resources Association Professional Development Committee

MissionIdentify and promote training and development opportunities for SUNY HR professionals to enhance identified competencies and to ensure succession planning across SUNY.

Overarching Goals:

  • Develop competency descriptions for specific human resources and payroll functions within the SUNY System.
  • Develop tools and resources to perform gap analysis at both the Association level as well as the individual level.
  • Establish sub-committees to develop resources specific to competencies.
  • Provide opportunities for skill development and knowledge sharing.

Professional Development

 

SUNY Human Resources Association Technology Committee

Mission: Promote and leverage the use of technology and shared technology resources to assist all SUNY HR professionals in effectively and efficiently fulfilling their responsibilities.  The committee, both independently and in collaboration with other SUNY departments, develops and carries out short and long-range plans for delivering and strengthening University-wide HR technology resources and initiatives, as well as streamlining a centralized resource of SUNY HR related information.
