Vice Chancellor Academic Programs Policy and Planning (MP)

This title is in the unclassified service and is designated Managerial/Confidential. Appointees to Managerial/Confidential titles serve at the pleasure of the chief administrative officer and are not represented for collective negotiations.

Positions in this family are responsible for coordinating the many and complex aspects of the educational and educationally-related programs of the State University System.

VICE CHANCELLOR FOR ACADEMIC PROGRAMS POLICY AND PLANNING is responsible to the Chancellor for the preparation and implementation of policies, plans, new approaches and innovative efforts in the area of academic programs for the University system. Supervises the staff in the offices in the organizational area of Academic Programs: Graduate Education and Research, Undergraduate Education, Vocational and Technical Education, Health Sciences and Health-Related Professional Education, Arts and Cultural Affairs, International Programs, Educational Development, University Press, Library Services, the New York Network and the Sea Grant Program.

Preferred Qualifications:

A doctorate and several years of high level and wide-ranging teaching and academic administrative and managerial experience.
