Vice Chancellor for Governmental Relations (MP)

This title is in the unclassified service and is designated Managerial/Confidential. Appointees to Managerial/Confidential titles serve at the pleasure of the chief administrative officer and are not represented for collective negotiations.

Positions in this area are concerned principally with improving communications and relations with both the university's internal and external constituencies in order to insure university accountability for its activities, make well-known its educational opportunities, and make understandable its plans and policies. As such, University Affairs is a direct public service function.

VICE CHANCELLOR FOR GOVERNMENT RELATIONS, works with the Chancellor and others in developing for the university an on-going liaison with Federal, State and local legislators and executive officials.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in political science, government or public law required, advanced graduate work in these fields desired, and several years of high level and significant university, university campus and governmental experience, the last preferably in both the executive and legislative branches.
