T.H. Associate Director of Biomedical Engineering (SL5)

This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.

As a family, Biomedical Engineering positions are responsible for the investigation and design, development and construction of not readily available biomedical instrumentation, make special Biomedical equipment purchases, repairs, preparation, and maintenance of electronic devices used in specialty areas (Radiology, Clinical Pathology, Respiratory Therapy, Dialysis, etc.) in support of the delivery of quality patient care and research.

Assumes the duties of the Director in his absence and may head management teams. The incumbent is responsible for discharging the responsibilities of the Director in his absence. Additional responsibilities include:

Preferred Qualifications:

BSEE and/or MSEE with ultimate Clinical Engineering Certification, and four years electronics industry experience to include at least two years in administrative/supervisory capacity. Certification as a Clinical Engineer (ICC) preferred.
