Ship's Officer (Maritime) (SL4)

This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.

Positions in this series are concerned with the administration of the training ship during the summer sea session of the Maritime College also serving as members of the academic staff or administration during the regular academic year.

Ship's Officer (Supply): 
The Ship's Supply Officer found exclusively at the Maritime Academy is responsible for budget control, procurement activities, inventory control, food and miscellaneous hotel services, as well as general administrative duties as assigned.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

Preferred Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree with significant experience in supply/procurement functions on board ships (Military or commercial). Familiarity with hotel and food operations is desirable. Military background is preferred.

Ship's Officer (Engineer/Deck): 
The Ship's Engineer or Deck Officer found exclusively at the Maritime Academy is responsible for the Maintenance of the Engineer/Deck Department's Space and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree with significant experience in appropriate areas. Military background is desirable.
