This title is in the unclassified service and is designated Managerial/Confidential. Appointees to Managerial/Confidential titles serve at the pleasure of the chief administrative officer and are not represented for collective negotiations. This title replaced the title Director of Campus Public Safety in 2005.

Positions in this family are concerned with the administration of the police, security and safety functions at a campus in order to assure a proper atmosphere for the pursuit of the educational objectives of the campus community. The primary responsibilities of these positions are to supervise the daily activities of the university police/security force, to develop training programs for the university police/security personnel, and to provide liaison between the campus university police/security office and various outside agencies.

CHIEF OF POLICE (MP), is responsible for the proper administration and efficient operation of university police/secuity forces and sometimes safety activities at a campus.

Preferred Qualifications:

A minimum of two years of formal training beyond the high school level, with a Bachelor's degree preferred; significant experience in police administration or campus security work
