This title is in the unclassified service and is designated Managerial/Confidential. Appointees to Managerial/Confidential titles serve at the pleasure of the chief administrative officer and are not represented for collective negotiations.

Positions in this broad general grouping are involved with the administering of the campus business affairs to support and enhance the academic purpose of the campus. They include but are not limited to accounting, budget development, administration and control, the bursar, payroll, personnel, purchasing and internal audit.

VICE PRESIDENT FOR ADMINISTRATION serves as principal deputy to the campus President in all administrative, managerial and business areas and thus is responsible for directing all but academic, student personnel, and research affairs on campus. Coordinates programs on campus with the needs of the academic community, student personnel, research programs, the SUNY System Administration and the requirements of various Federal and State agencies; usually supervises the following programs: facilities planning, plant management, budget development and control, methods, systems, and communications development, business and personnel affairs, campus safety and security computer services, general institutional services and the business and fiscal affairs programs of non-State organizations such as the auxiliary service, the SUNY Research Foundation, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's degree in business or public administration and five years of progressively responsible experience in a management position, preferably in an educational setting.
