Student Activities Associate (SL2)

This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.

Is responsible for a portion of the student activities programming as assigned by the Director or may direct the student activities program at a small campus; does related work as required. Works closely with various student groups as assigned such as orientation and freshman activities, student government; assist new student groups seeking to become recognized student groups; aids the Director in formulating policy as it relates to the activities program; may act as a staff assistant to the Director in an area of responsibility such as budget formulation or preparation of college calendar. Incumbent may assist in the training and supervision of orientation staff; assists in the planning, design, implementation and coordination of the parent and student orientation program; assist in the advisement, coordination, evaluation of programs and activities of the student organizations. May work with major campus student organizations with emphasis on programming groups; serve as a liaison with area institutions of higher education to exchange ideas and share bookings. Incumbent may assist in the development and design of written material distributed by the office. Assist in the coordination of college calendar; and perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree with one to three years of experience in student activity programming.
