This title is in the unclassified service and is designated Managerial/Confidential. Appointees to Managerial/Confidential titles serve at the pleasure of the chief administrative officer and are not represented for collective negotiations. Appointees to this title may also possess concurrent faculty rank.
Positions in this series are involved with the administration of professional personnel services at a campus or university system office including, but not limited to employment; classification/compensation, benefits, employee labor relations, staff training and development.
Senior Personnel Associate is responsible for managing the professional activities and staff assigned to one or more of the primary functional areas of the Office of Personnel/Human Resources, or to provide highly specialized professional services within one or more of these areas. In addition, the Senior Personnel Associate may provide guidance to campus/university officers, administrators and supervisors in the interpretation of administrative laws, rules and regulations relating to the Personnel/Human Resources function, ensuring campus/university compliance with these requirements. Assists senior campus/university officers in the development of policies and procedures related to functional specialty. Initiates the development of action plans, problem resolution strategies and other initiatives for independent execution or coordinated implementation with other campus/university/governmental units. Represents campus/university Personnel Office at agency-level meetings or by serving on committees.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Personnel, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field and three to seven years progressive experience in a personnel operation, preferably in higher education or the public sector; comprehensive knowledge of one or more personnel functional areas.
