Regional Coordinator of Vocational-Technical Education (SL5)

 

This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.

Regional Coordinator of Vocational and Technical Education, directs and coordinates an off-campus regional program in vocational technical education. Does related work as required. Is responsible for testing, interviewing, and admitting students for training in a program which will enable them to become qualified in industrial education and to teach in secondary schools. Selects part-time instructional staff for the program, insures proper instructional standards by the faculty, counsels and advises students, works wish the administration and faculty of the sponsoring campus in curriculum development and revision and other pertinent matters affecting the quality of the educational program. He/she is also responsible for coordination of the program efforts with the State Department of Education and Teacher Certification of graduates and with local school systems in the placement of graduates in this program.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's in a vocational, technical, or a related field; 3 years of appropriate teaching experience in secondary and higher education; 1 to 3 years experience in college administration; or a satisfactory combination thereof.
