This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.

As a family, the financial aid titles administer the student financial aid program on a campus. Incumbents interpret and advise students on federal and State University financial aid programs, assisting students and parents in determining need and eligibility for various student aid funds.

Serves on the campus financial aid staff. Meets with students and parents to determine financial needs and recommends assistance and programs within established laws and guidelines. Reviews applications, certifies eligibility, authorizes awards and vouchers for payment, manages budget control. Advises students and parents in the management of the student's personnel finances, alternate sources of assistance and financing. Conducts reviews and evaluations of financial aid applicants for packaging. Conducts directed research and evaluations.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's Degree and experience in financial aid.
