This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit This title is in Appendix A of the SUNY Policies of the Board of Trustees and, as a consequence, incumbents serving in this title are not eligible for permanent appointment (tenure), but, instead receive five year renewable term appointments..

As a family, the financial aid titles administer the student financial aid program on a campus. Incumbents interpret and advise students on federal and State University financial aid programs, assisting students and parents in determining need and eligibility for various student aid funds.

Directs the student financial aid programs on campus. Is responsible for the interpretation of regulations on complex federal and state university financial aid programs; collects personal and financial data from students and parents to determine need and eligibility for various institutional, state and federal student aid funds; is responsible for the fiscal management of the various student aid programs to insure fulfillment of the intent and purpose of each of the different programs; maintains liaison with parents, secondary schools, scholarship foundations, other institutions, special programs, including the educational opportunity program, and state and federal agencies; advises students on financial matters generally; certifies the program of part-time student employment, including the federally sponsored Work-Study Program; serves as a member of committees concerned with all of the above. Monitors the academic progress of students receiving aid.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's degree. Significant experience in financial aid and managerial and supervisory experience.
