This title is in the unclassified service and is designated Managerial/Confidential. Appointees to Managerial/Confidential titles serve at the pleasure of the chief administrative officer and are not represented for collective negotiations.

Positions in this broad general grouping are involved with the administering of the campus business affairs to support and enhance the academic purpose of the campus. 'They include but are not limited to accounting, budget development, administration and control, the bursar, payroll, and internal audit.

DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS AFFAIRS acts as the chief business and fiscal officer at a University campus. Develops major policies for business operations and gives overall guidance to the budget, purchase, account, bursar, personnel, payroll and other related administrative offices of a campus; works with the President, Deans, Directors, Department Chairmen, other academic administrators, and faculty to ensure that fiscal and related programs service the academic objectives of the campus; guides the campus in translating academic and related programs into program budgets; institutes effective controls and procedures for the administration of campus funds; assures efficiency and economy in business office operations. At a smaller campus, or in the absence of a Vice President for Administration, supervises other administrative areas such as physical plant, security, and safety, facilities planning, computer services, and college institutional services.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Higher Education Administration and substantial experience in the field.
