This title is in the unclassified service and is designated Managerial/Confidential. Appointees to Managerial/Confidential titles serve at the pleasure of the chief administrative officer and are not represented for collective negotiations.

DIRECTOR OF VOCATIONAL-TECHNICAL EDUCATION, directs a statewide program for the growth and improvement of vocational-technical education. Is responsible for the development of curriculum courses and all instructional services available for individual programs; assists in the recruitment of faculty for programs; develops and promotes programs to encourage student participation in campus academic advisement and personal counseling; conducts and evaluates studies for the improvement of instructional, vocational, and technical education. Prepares and administers both operating and capital budgets as required for the development and continuance of programs and reviews and supervises utliization of space and facilities in order to maximize a most effective use of available facilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctorate in Vocational, Technical, or related field; 3-5 years of teaching experience in secondary and higher education; 1-3 years experience in college administration; or a satisfactory combination thereof.
