This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit. This title is in Appendix A of the SUNY Policies of the Board of Trustees and, as a consequence, incumbents serving in this title are not eligible for permanent appointment (tenure), but, instead receive five year renewable term appointments.
Plans and directs the management and program of the student union to ensure its efficient and proper use as an important educational resource of the college. Incumbent supervises professional, clerical and support staff; formulates policies and regulations concerning the use of the student union; confers with representatives of student, faculty and other appropriate campus and outside groups to make arrangements for the use of the various facilities in the student union; administers and supervises services such as the information centers, game and recreation areas, snack bar, galleries, student offices, etc; interprets policies and regulations; schedules and supervises special events and programs, and the managerial/administrative affairs associated with such events, maintenance, public safety, and auxiliary services.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's degree, preferably in student personnel or related area, with progressive experience in the management and administration of a student union or student activities program.
