This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit. This title is in Appendix A of the SUNY Policies of the Board of Trustees and, as a consequence, incumbents serving in this title are not eligible for permanent appointment (tenure), but, instead receive five year renewable term appointments.

The Director of instructional Resources is the ranking administrative and technical officer of an Educational Communications Center at a Campus. As such, is responsible for instructional program planning and the development of instructional facilities, equipment and materials, and the design and implementation of instructional systems; provides specialized knowledge and experience in both education and communications and is the principal specialist on the campus regarding technological changes and the use of educational media in campus instructional programs; is responsible for the development and implementation of the center's budget and for the center's purchasing; supervises subordinates.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in a multimedia discipline and five years experience in the field in an institution of higher education.
