Coordinator of Student Teaching (SL5)

This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.

Under the general supervision of a department chair, director, or dean of an education department, division, or faculty: arranges for registration, screening, placement, orientation, and evaluation of student teachers in all curriculum areas; identifies and secures participation of superior school systems and teachers; supervises conferences for off-campus cooperating teachers and administrators; prepares written material for the student teaching program; evaluates the effectiveness of the student teaching program; cooperates with directors of major divisions of the college for improving teacher training.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's degree with several years of professional experience in higher education, particularly in the area of teacher education.
