This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
Positions in this family are concerned with planning and development, design and construction, equipping, rehabilitation, repair, maintenance and operation of University campus physical facilities.
ASSOCIATE FOR UNIVERSITY PHYSICAL PLANT SUPPORT SERVICES, under superevision of the Director of University Physical Plant Support Services, assists in the performance of all tasks assigned to the section. Reviews and expedites minor rehabilitation and repair projects at assigned campuses; affects liaison regarding all environmental programs, providing necessary data to the section and all campuses; furnishes campus background date to appropriate university maintenance management and planning staff and reviews campus programs; provides data regarding New York State Building Code revisions and requirements to the section and all campuses; activates all minor rehabilitation and repair projects for assigned campuses; reviews program requirements, actively follows preparation of project documents with assigned architect or State agency and conducts final inspection and acceptance of project; conducts campus-wide inspections of new building construction and project acceptance.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in architecture and several years of experience in architecture or engineering, handling rehabilitation and repair projects areview and construction, preferable in a higher education facilities program, or a satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.
