This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
Supervises TV Engineers, executes complex switching of leased terrestrial microwave system crosspoints to assure programming is routed to and from appropriate NYS Public Television Stations in accordance with the daily program log, ability to recognize, react to and correct technical difficulties to assure continuity of service. May also be involved in the operation of complex digital effects and video switching (wipes/dissolves/etc...) equipment, as well as computer based video graphics system. Overall team leader in production environment working with the video editor and audio mixer, or the field operation of television camera chain (video tape recorder, audio, lighting, etc ... ) producing field master videotapes that are ultimately edited by production crew. Requires high degree of artistic, as well as technical ability.
Other duties in this series may involve troubleshooting and repair of broadcast television equipment comprising in the entire New York Network television facility. Requires extensive background in electronics theory and application. High degree Of accountability and ability to work relatively unsupervised. May also be involved in the operation of a sophisticated computer based videotape editing system which requires maintaining critical technical parameters to assure edit sessions with clients meet or exceed broadcast industry production standards, or the operation of a multi-channel audio mixing console maintaining proper audio levels for each production project. Controls proper audio parameters from various sources (sound Of tape, sound effects, voice overs, etc ... ).
Bachelor's degree and six years of relevant experience in a broadcast television facility.
