Positions in this family are involved with formulation and director of the University's public relations program including news releases, publications, and community involvement.
Assistant to President for Community Relations, at a campus of the University, serves as executive assistant or staff officer to the president in the areas of public information and community relations. Does related work as required. Responsible for the preparation of news releases on campus activities; supervises the campus publications efforts; prepares answers to inquiries from news media, public officials and other interested persons; works with community leaders in an attempt to determine needs and programs that can be fulfilled by the campus. May supervise a group of professionals in the above activities where the size and complexity of the program warrant.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in journalism or in the related field of communications or public relations and several years of significant and major higher education public and community relations experience.
