Assistant Director of Libraries (SL5)

This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.

One of several assistants to the Director or to the Associate Director of Libraries or serves as second-in-charge when the ranking library officer is an Associate Director of Libraries. May have charge of one or more of the areas of library operation such as public services, technical services, systems, library administration and/or various other subdivisions unique to the library system in which they serve.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master of Library Science degree required. Appropriate professional experience in an academic library with automated library systems.
