Assistant Director of the Vocational and Technical Center (SL4)

This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.

The Assistant Director is second-in-charge of the Vocational and Technical Department and is primarily engaged in the administration and coordination of the Occupational Competency Examination Programs and the Supervised Student Teaching Program. Typical duties include, but are not limited to: scheduling and administrating the Occupational Competency Examinations at various facilities; developing new examinations; serving on committees designed to review and evaluate examination results; developing and maintaining a file of approved teaching sites and cooperating teachers; working closely with school boards and administrators in placing student teachers; serving as a liaison between the campus and the teaching sites on matters related to student teaching.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree. Four years of experience in teaching or educational administration.
