This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
Incuments of positions in this family perform evaluations of the peripheral arterial, venous and cerebrovascular system for the physician to read over, edit and sign, including post-operative examination of the peripheral surgical points of interest.
Makes preliminary evaluation of all test results obtained; establishes new vascular testing procedures and modifies existing ones as the need arises; develops and implements new protocols; instructs medical staff and students; trains, instructs and supervises subordinate staff; administratively supervises, counsels and evaluates performance of subordinate staff; prepares budget and controls the maintenance of equipment and supplies; works independently within the guidelines and priorities set by the Director.
Preferred Qualification:
BS or BA preferred, certification in Vascular Technology and Ultrasonography and with expertise in all aspects of vascular non-invasive testing. Four years experience, to include one year in a supervisory/administrative capacity.
