T.H. Clinical Technical Services Vascular Assistant (SL1)

This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.

Incumbents of positions in this family perform evaluations of the peripheral arterial, venous and cerebrovascular system for the physician to read over, edit and sign, including post-operative examination of the peripheral surgical points of interest.

This position initially works under specific instructions on the operation of the different types of equipment and performance of various tests. After a six month training period under constant supervision, the position is expected to handle the work independently. Data is evaluated periodically for accuracy and completeness by the supervisor. Primary duties include the evaluation of the arterial and venous circulation in the upper and lower extremities.

Preferred Qualification:

High School Diploma. Knowledge of the cardiovascular system. Previous hospital experience desired.
