T.H. Clinical Technical Services Transplant Organ Perfusionist (SL2)

This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.

The Organ Perfusionist possesses specific knowledge of organ preservation; the rate and induction of cooling, actual storage hypothermia temperature, oxygenation within the kidney, flow and pressure rates. The incumbent will have knowledge of the principles of renal function in order to quickly rectify any problems that would threaten the viability of the kidney; moderate knowledge of nephrectomy and transplantation operative procedures.

Preferred Qualification:

Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry or relevant science area. One year experience as a Perfusion Technician at a federally accredited transplantation center or two years experience in a setting where candidate received training in sterile technique.
