T.H. Senior Staff Associate (SL5)

 

This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.

As a family, T.H. Administrative Support provides a broad range of professional support services to department heads or administrative officers within the University Hospital. Distinctions between classes are based on the complexity of support the incumbent provides, the difficulty of the work, the degree of supervision received, the degree of autonomy in decision-making, and educational/ experience requirements.

Responsible for programs with hospital-wide impact as compared to employees responsible for specialized duties within a department or division. Incumbents frequently work at the highest professional level and frequently assist the hospital's senior executive officers in the general administration of a project or program. Assumes all administrative responsibilities for the day-to-day operation of the department. These duties may include supervision of the managerial staff responsible for their own areas, monitoring the department's fiscal accountability and cost containment program, and serving as liaison on the departmental level with all support services.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with five years of experience in an administrative/supervisory capacity or Associate's Degree with seven years like experience. Master's degree with major in Health Care, Business or Public Administration and at least four years experience in an administrative/supervisory capacity.
