This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
As a family, T.H. Administrative Support provides a broad range of professional support services to department heads or administrative officers within the University Hospital. Distinctions between classes are based on the complexity of support the incumbent provides, the difficulty of the work, the degree of supervision received, the degree of autonomy in decision-making, and educational/ experience requirements.
Incumbents commonly supervise a large support staff and the work environment is complex. Responsibility for important programs may be assigned. Typical responsibilities may include: responsibility for establishing departmental objectives to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies (e.g., JCAH, State Code), training, supervision and evaluation of assigned staff, performing inspection rounds to insure an environment conducive to the care and comfort of patients, and assistance in development of budget-projections for equipment and supplies.
Preferred Qualifications:
AAS with a minimum of four years relevant experience in a supervisory/ administrative capacity. Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years relevant experience in a supervisory/ administrative capacity.
