This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.
As a family, Occupational Therapists work closely with other members of the health care team to devise and carry out specialized treatment programs aimed at enabling patients to return to their normal activities.
Assists Associate Director of the hospital Occupational Therapy Program; in the development of program plans and departmental growth. Responsible for all aspects of patient care and management in compliance with departmental policies and procedures and the quality control program. Assists with the department in-service training program and the orientation and training of all medical staff as needed in regards to Occupational Therapy. May represent the department internally and externally, interacts with medical staff regarding patient needs; assists in the update and development of department policies and procedures, record keeping and inventory control programs. Supervision is minimal. Position supervises subordinate staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
BS in Occupational Therapy and NYS license. Four years experience to include one year in a supervisory/ administrative position.
