T.H. Management Engineer (SL3)

 

This title is in the unclassified service and in the SUNY Professional Services Negotiating Unit.

Management Engineering family description: Documents information flow and work flow in existing or proposed manual or computer-based systems for the purpose of measuring its impact on existing operating costs or estimating expected future costs, and recommending the most efficient and effective utilization of staff and materials.

Assists the Management Engineering staff in the performance of operational audits/ analyses and development or modification of work procedures specific to hospital systems. Responsible for specific engineering programs and performs all the duties of the T.H. Management Engineering Associate. Prepares project plans under the guidance of the Senior Staff and utilizes computer programming knowledge related to project planning, spreadsheet analysis, statistical analysis, etc., as well as an understanding of basic mainframe report generating capabilities. Maintains decision support, management information and other microcomputer based administrative support programs to improve management and financial control, and decision-making. Interacts with medical and administrative support programs to design and/or improve productivity and quality of operational and information systems; synthesizes data and differentiates operational problems during the course of the engineering analyses. Works under the direct supervision of the Associate Director.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Management, Management Engineering. Zero to two years experience.
